Overview

Installing the DBPanacea client programs consists of downloading and installing SQLEditor and TemplateMaker. Each program has its own installation executable:

These programs install the client software on the local computer.

When you download DBPanacea from the HHPN Web site, the download process copies these executables to your computer. For information about downloading DBPanacea, see Install DBServer.

Install SQLEditor

  1. Double-click the file named SQLEditorInstaller.exe or SQLEditorInstaller.bin.
  2. Under Introduction, click Next.
  3. Under Choose Install Folder click Next to accept the default installation location (drive_letter\Program Files\SQLEditor) and continue or click Choose to find another folder.
  4. Click Done.

Install TemplateMaker

  1. Double-click the file named TemplateMakerInstaller.exe or TemplateMakerInstaller.bin.
  2. Under Introduction, click Next.
  3. Under Choose Install Folder click Next to accept the default installation location (drive_letter\Program Files\TemplateMaker) and continue or click Choose to find another folder.
  4. Click Done.

Reference

By default the SQLEditor and TemplateMaker installations create folders named for each program under the Program Files folder on the destination computer.

Each program folder contains the following subfolders, along with the executable and related files.

Classes

Contains the Java archive (.jar) files that support SQLEditor functionality.

Config

Contains files used to initialize a client configuration.

Images

Contains graphics files that support the client software user interfaces.

On computers running Windows or Sun UNIX, DBPanacea automatically installs and defines a path to the Sun JDK. On computers running other operating systems, the setup program locates any installed versions of the Java run-time environment and prompts you to select the one you want to use with DBPanacea.

To use SQLEditor, you should have a basic knowledge of SQL command syntax and relational databases.

To use TemplateMaker, you should have a basic knowledge of HTML syntax and Web page design.
